Culture & Community Research Intern 

The Roots Routes is an innovator when it comes to experimental travel experiences and community involvement in tourism in Thailand (with plans to expand to the Great Mekong Subregion).

Are you interested in gaining experience working with local communities, and doing research about cultural heritage in one of the world's most buzzing cities? Are you interested in local cultures and food?

Look no further, we are looking for an energized research assistant for a very exciting project, linking history, food, and local communities.

The internship period is going to start from May 2023 onwards.

Responsibilities

Venture out into the local neighborhoods, talk to locals and their stories, find the tastiest food, and document your findings. You will be researching the soul of local neighborhoods - mainly food!

Qualifications

  • Curious about community-based tourism.

  • Passion for culture, history, urban life, food, and stories related.

  • Fluent in the Thai language & excellent communication skills (English language is an advantage)

  • A Peoples person

  • Planning & coordination skills

  • Flexible

  • Can-do attitude
