The Roots Routes on Bangkok Design Week 2023 Tour!

The Roots Routes (www.therootsroutes.com ) is a digital travel companion that leads individual explorers to alternative experiences as well as cultural heritage preservation through local stories in the neighborhoods. This year we also participate in the Bangkok Design Week 2023 festival during 4 -12 FEB 2023 which focuses on urban development and encourage people to explore the city under their theme “urban’NICE’zation “making cities better,” The tour from The Roots Routes consists of 4 tour with different theme.

The first route is dedicated to the diversity and lesser known cultural heritage of old Bangkok, when the capital resided on the opposite side of the Chao Phraya River.

Our second route will also give excellent introduction to old Bangkok, spanning different modes of transport, hidden alleyways, magnificent temples and the oldest lychee orchard in the city.

The third route presents traditional Thai art concepts, stories involving local beliefs and a look into aspects of everyday life in the community today. See how traditional artists are honoring their masters by passing down their knowledge and using their influence to create works that are detailed, delicate and sacred.

Our last route is a unique opportunity to explore a neighborhood on the west bank of the Chao Phraya river where untold stories are waiting to be revealed. The journey will allow you to gain a deeper understanding of Thai culture through the personal perspective of Auntie Noom, a descendant of a Thai aristocratic family that has lived in this Thonburi neighborhood for over five generations.
